Soft Skills: To be a Cloud Architect, your verbal communication skills must be sound because you’ll be doing a lot of meetings, listening to presentations, holding presentations, and understanding business requirements to design, plan, visualize and translate these into solutions. 

Technical Skills: A proper background in cloud computing and the knowledge of information technology, data security, and storage is okay. Also,  working knowledge in programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Elixirs, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, LAN/WAN, firewalls, and cyber security, will pave more ways for you. So, if possible, do well to have certifications that can show your knowledge in these areas. 

Salary: According to PayScale, In the United States, the average Cloud Architect salary is $128,418, but the salary range falls between $120,466 to $149,027. per year, and at least $10,000 cash bonus per year depending on your level of experience and location.

Software Engineers

The core responsibility for this role is to build cloud systems, products, and services that can run on computers, phones, and other devices. These programs will allow companies or employees to manage, perform and collaborate across teams to solve specific data tasks. As a cloud network technology developer or engineer, you must be able to adapt to fast-changing technologies to solve complex real-world problems. You must also collaborate with the DevOps and technical support team to ensure the quality development of the cloud system. 

Skills: As an entry-level, having a bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering will be okay. Nonetheless, you can participate in boot camps, hackathons, or internships to gain relevant experience. Also, as an entry-level or mid-level software engineer, you should have a working knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, SQL, C#, Ruby, and Python, with soft skills such as attention to detail, multitasking, and effective communication.

Salary: According to Indeed salary statistics, as of February 2022, the average salary for a software engineer is $119,042 per year in the United States and $4,225 cash bonus per year.

Network and Computer Systems Administrator

These individuals are responsible for monitoring, organizing, protecting, maintaining, managing, and upgrading the software and hardware areas of the company computer system. Skills: If you know your way around a database and network systems, you might enjoy working as a cloud data scientist. Nonetheless, you need to have a lot of data experience with SQL, Python, Oracle, and other data tools and programming languages. Plus, you should have good communication skills, analytic skills, and team collaboration skills.

Salary: The average entry level salary for data scientists is around $74,686 per year in the United States.

Help Desk Technician

These individuals help provide customer and technical support to IT and cloud-related issues, such as software, hardware, networking, and operating issues. They also assist with the installation and maintenance of various systems and software in the cloud network. To thrive as an entry-level, you need to stay current with cloud industry developments.
