Candidate Background and Placement

The candidate for this position is CFA certified and has 25+ years of Software Developer experience, 24 of which have been in the financial services field. They have supervised and implemented critical architecture solutions for Fortune 500 Investment firms; and engaged in the entire development stack from specification gathering to final deployment. 

Their experience was proven when the Angular 8 web app increased client satisfaction and delivery of new features by 50%. They also embedded Python scripts inside .Net, resulting in a 30% decrease in time to production of new features.

They have served loyally and valuably in different companies, including State Street and 3M Corporation. They joined the company after serving PIMCO since 2018.

Asset Management Firm Needs

The development group is a subset of the LA-based asset management company with decades of experience managing fixed-income assets. The company is responsible for building out the company’s proprietary software platform to empower end users to make the best and most timely decisions and actions in the investment lifecycle. 

Organizationally, the company was looking for a candidate who would focus on supporting its security level returns, performance analysis, and returns attribution systems with a long-term focus on modernizing systems and developing the cloud-based operating environment for Investment Risk Quants. 

Critical skills sought out by the company for the role included: end-to-end ownership of applications, hands-on analysis, design and implementation, outstanding communication, and designing technical solutions.

The LA asset management company has more than four decades of investment experience. Today, it manages $220 billion in client assets and is one of the largest mutual fund complexes in the U.S.
